Ven. Khenpo Karma Yeshe

Venerable Khenpo Karma Yeshe was born in 1972 in the mid western Nepal, called Mugu district. It is surrounded by the pristine Lake and the wonderful Himalayas, which is also one of the most isolated places in Nepal. It is situated in the border region of the roof of the world-Tibet. At the age of eight, he travelled to Tso Pema/ Rewalsar in India along with his grandmother. The thirst of knowledge and Buddhist preaching led him to Ven. Lama Gondup at his dwelling in the Padmasambhava cave at Rewalsar. When he met Ven. Lama Gondup and engrossed by that sacred place, then he decided to follow the footstep of him and became his apprentice.

During his stay in the residence of Lama, he learnt all the basic aspects of Buddhism and the related texts from him. After having the basic knowledge about the Buddhist education, he came to Kathmandu and continued his further studies at the Samye Memorial Buddhist Institute (the Tibetan Buddhist college). Ven. Khenpo Karma Yeshe spent 15 years of hardship studies in that institute and obtained his Khenpo degree (Phd. In Buddhist philosophy). H. H. Dudjom Rinpoche offered him the Khenpo honour. After that, he has been taking in charge of the holy Kunsang Nunnery as the second Lama and managing better facilities for nuns, moving forward to sheltering them and to teach them the Dharma education and construction of Sandhok Palree projects.
